Simulation of Smoldering Combustion of Organic Horizons at Pine and Spruce Boreal Forests with Lab-Heating Experiments

Wildfire is a threat for many boreal ecosystems and induces deep modifications in organic horizons. In this paper, we have considered fire-induced changes to the horizon properties. The effect of fire was studied by using forest litter burning experiment. Sample heating performed lab at fixed temperatures (200, 300 500 °C), on set O horizons developed under pine (Flavocetraria-Pinetum association) spruce (Piceetum hylocomium splendens litters. Litters were analyzed terms pH, specific electrical conductivity, surface area, total carbon (Ctot) nitrogen (Ntot) content, water-soluble nitrogen, δ13C δ15N stable isotope analysis 13C NMR spectroscopy. mean pH values increased from ~5 ~8.2 with an increase influence temperature. conductivity area properties as well ~255 ~432 0.42 1.84, respectively. Ctot Ntot decreased, but same time inorganic content increased. aromaticity matter after results present study show that are changed wildfire discussion made it clear help understanding how affects matter.
